20 locals of the Shelley Arms pub, in Broadbridge Heath, are participating in a sponsored firewalk, in aid of ‘Little Heroes’ Children Cancer Charity.
The event, set for January 23, is generously sponsored by ‘Town and Country Turf’ (tcturf.com). Local (and much valued customer) Bob Wood, has kindly donated 2 Panasonic TVs, on behalf of the turf supplier, for a raffle being held at the pub. £2 can buy customers a chance of winning one of the LED TVs, amongst other prizes.
A representative of the Shelley Arms commented: “We owe a huge thank you to Bob, as he is also participating in the firewalk and has raised over £500 alone, so far. We have a total pub target of £2000 and are already looking at hoping to reach nearer £3000!”.
The evening will start at 6.15pm, with a safety talk for the firewalkers, in The Shelley Arms car park. The firewalk will be held at 7pm and the pub will be open to serve food and provide live music from local artists.
